The Fishing Bridge Recreational Vehicle Park is located near the mouth of the Yellowstone River as it leaves Yellowstone Lake. The RV park is named after the Fishing Bridge, a wooden vehicle bridge that used to provide a great platform from which park visitors would fish for native Cutthroat trout. Today, fishing is not allowed from the bridge, although visitors still congregate on the walkways to watch White Pelicans and other waterfowl gliding along the river’s surface, and to look for trout swimming under the crystal clear water.
We recently completed an extensive renovation of the RV Park, which provides 310 sites designated for hard-sided recreational vehicles only. The renovation included new and larger sites, a larger parking lot, a new dump station and recycling area, and an expanded registration building with more showers and laundry facilities. Four comfort stations were renovated to bring them to current ADA (accessibility) standards.
The Upper Loop of the RV park has 172 renovated and paved sites ranging from 40-feet to 95-feet in length. The 40-foot sites are double-wide and back-in. The majority of new sites include pull-through drives, and all of the Upper Loop has upgraded 50 amp/30 amp and 110-volt electrical service and picnic tables. (No other sites/loops were included in this renovation. There are 30- to 35-foot double-wide, back-in sites in other loops and 30-foot single-wide back-in sites.*)
We doubled the size of the registration building with a floor plan that accommodates additional women’s and men’s showers, two family showers, and more washing machines and dryers. There is a small retail space in the registration building as well.
The Fishing Bridge RV Park provides 310 sites designated for hard-sided recreational vehicles only. This is because the RV park is located in bear habitat. Also because of its location, we ask that RV campers be especially diligent in their compliance with park food storage regulations. Recreational vehicles with a combined length (RV and tow vehicle) of up to 95 feet in length can be accommodated based on the availability of the right-size site. All sites are open, with a mix of pull-through and back-in sites. A pine forest surrounds the RV Park. Additional facilities and services include:
When making a reservation, you must enter the combined length of your RV and any other vehicles or towed vehicles. (e.g. the length of your vehicle in addition to the length of your trailer when fully open.)
Please remember that most Yellowstone campsites will not accommodate oversized units. If you arrive at the Campground/RV Park with equipment different than that for which you have reserved, we will not be able to accommodate you.
You can book tours in advance online, through our reservations office by calling 307-344-7311, or at the activities desk located at the campground registration office. The following guided tours have a pick-up point at the RV Park Registration Office. Advanced reservations are recommended.
Please note that odors attract bears. The following items (new, clean, dirty, empty or full) may NOT be left outside of your RV at any time, day or night. At Fishing Bridge RV park, food storage boxes (bear boxes) are NOT available, all items listed below must be stored in a hard sided vehicle or your RV. A violation of these rules may result in a citation and/or confiscation of these items. The bears’ future and the safety of others depend on you.
Picnic meals, fast food, and deli lunches are available from our restaurants and snack shops. Please inquire at any Xanterra Parks & Resorts food service outlet. Yellowstone National Park features several picnic locations. View National Park Service picnic guidelines and locations for additional information.
There are no specific dining facilities located at the campground. Dining facilities are, however, available throughout the park, ranging from fine dining restaurants to snack shops and cafeterias. Dinner reservations are required at the fine dining facilities. Inquire at any lodging front desk or dining room host stand when you arrive at the park. We recommend you enjoy the following Yellowstone National Park Lodges Restaurants and Cafeterias that are located nearby this campground:
