Over-snow transportation is required TO AND FROM Old Faithful Snow Lodge during the winter season. Snowcoach transportation is available daily between Mammoth Hot Springs Hotel and Old Faithful Snow Lodge. Reserve your snowcoach transportation online or by calling 307-344-7311 (reservations are required each direction).
In winter, the park’s interior is accessible only by commercial over-snow transportation, and Yellowstone’s snowcoaches are essentially the ultimate 21st-century (heated) sleigh. These fascinating vehicles travel over groomed snow-covered roads, the same roads you’d drive yourself in the summer. The snowcoaches are driven by our seasoned guides, so every mile, regardless of destination, is a guided tour of Yellowstone’s extraordinary winter scenery.
Be sure to dress in layers and wear appropriate footwear. While the snowcoach is heated, there will be stops where you can get outside and encounter all types of weather along the way. Please note your luggage will be traveling on a separate vehicle between the two locations. Please keep any necessary medications, equipment, etc., with you in a small carry-on bag that can fit on your lap.
Pets (with the exception of service dogs) are not allowed on our buses or snowcoaches; this is a federal law.

Luggage Guidelines
As space is limited, each guest is allotted two pieces of luggage plus a small carry-on bag and a pair of cross-country skis or a pair of snowshoes. The carry-on bag should be small enough to travel on the passenger’s lap (camera bag, purse, diaper bag, small daypack) as interior storage is not available on most snowcoaches. Luggage, equipment, and other large items will be transported between Mammoth and Old Faithful by a separate luggage vehicle. All luggage should have the ability to be closed securely, preventing any items from falling out of the bag. The bag should be made of a durable material (Plastic garbage bags, grocery bags, paper sacks, and reusable plastic/vinyl/canvas bags are not recommended). Hard-sided luggage is advised. There is a $25 fee for each bag exceeding 50 pounds and for each additional bag beyond two per snowcoach passenger.
