Winter Accommodations in Yellowstone National Park

Embrace the beauty of Yellowstone National Park draped in winter white, with mesmerizing scenes of frosty animals and steaming thermal features while staying at our cozy and comfortable lodges. During winter, two of our lodges are open – Mammoth Hot Springs Hotel and Old Faithful Snow Lodge.

Mammoth Hot Springs Hotel is accessible via the north entrance (open to visitors year-round) and makes a great home base from which to view wildlife, including wolves, in Lamar Valley.

Commercial over-snow transportation is required to the Old Faithful Snow Lodge for those desiring to journey deeper into the park. Here, you can go snowshoeing and cross-country skiing amidst the geyser basins.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Yellowstone National Park is an authentic American experience, which should keep every guest and visitor deeply engaged and spending time exploring the park. With this in mind, we do not have televisions or radios in the rooms or cabins, but telephones are available in most hotel and lodge rooms. Cabins do not have telephones. Wheelchair accessible accommodations are available. Please note that all park accommodations are non-smoking.

Winter Weather

Severe winter weather can occasionally cause the National Park Service to temporarily close park entrances and/or roads. This may result in delays or cancellations of in-park transportation. While every effort will be made to meet our transportation schedules, there may be times when closures prevent us from doing so.

Guests are responsible for any costs (including but not limited to additional lodging, transportation, meals and airline fees) related to such delays. NPS road information is available online or 307-344-2117.

Airport Shuttle from Bozeman-Yellowstone International Airport

We offer a daily shuttle in the winter season only, from the Bozeman Airport to/from Mammoth Hot Springs Hotel at the north entrance of Yellowstone National Park. This airport shuttle can only be reserved by guests of Yellowstone National Park Lodges. Please reserve your seat(s) when making your lodging reservations. More information is located here.
